We love staying at Southwinds. The rooms are cozy and clean. Nothing extravagant but for the little time we spend in the room it's fine. One small issue, when we first started staying at Southwinds some of the rooms were a bit larger but apparently due to some renovations, they took some of the bigger rooms and made them into 2. We used to have a decent closet and kitchenette area but now they are very small or non-existent.

Outstanding location, cute outdoor bar on side, clean and cool rooms and terrific service. This is a cute, old-time motel with lots of charm and a festive atmosphere. The breakfast was grab-n-go but definitely much better than most. Will absolutely stay there again!

It truly isn’t a KW Vacation and experience unless you or we’re staying here at Southwinds Motel. Yet, sitting by the heated pool we ran into “Negative Nancy” and their gang. NOTHING made them happy. I had to mention this because if you stay at Southwinds you feel like extended family. Friendly, professional and helpful from the time you check in, to housekeeping staff.(Thelma)😊 Their websight shows exactly what you get in this old establishment motel. We bring our bikes and they have plenty to rent- This location is everything….enjoy!

My fiancé and I were a little nervous booking a motel but this exceeded our expectations! All we wanted when booking was to stay at a place that was in a good location and offered a clean room & bed for a cheap price for Key West. We did not need any frills since it was only 2 of us staying for 1 night. This motel was exactly what we needed and was honestly nicer and more comfortable than we expected. Yes the features are dated, but overall everything was clean and the A/C worked great. No bugs or weird stains. Parking was super easy too. Definitely recommend this place if you need a place to sleep for a day or 2. I wouldn't recommend for longer though as it is a little tight. We booked through Chase Travel so I don't know if that influenced which room they gave us or not.
