Fall in Love With Southwinds By Reading Our Key West Hotel Reviews

Stayed here a few days. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful and they let us check in early. Location is excellent! Across the street from a deli, bar/liquor store and ice cream stand are on the property. They have 2 pools, plenty of picnic tables and bike/scooter rentals on premises. Rooms are small and somewhat outdated but very clean and had very comfy beds—who spends time in their room anyway? Location is a block off Duvall and walking distance to many stores and restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

Second time of staying here. The good points: location -close to beaches and not too far to duval Street. Staff all pleasant and friendly. The downsides - rooms dated and in need of maintenance. A couple of extras could improve the stay by a long way, such as a chest of drawers so you can unpack some clothes as had to keep getting cases out to look for next days outfit etc. A full length mirror would be nice. Some shelving for toiletries would also make life easier. We had a massive cockroach in the sink cupboard and found several smaller ones. On both our stays (a few years apart) the cleaners left the door open to our room so anyone to walk in. Bearing in mind there is no safe provided I believe this is unacceptable as our passports. Money and all our belongings were in the room. When we reported it last time they were quite blaze about it saying the crime rate was low but I don't think it should be left to chance as i am sure they wouldnt replace anything that was missing. The pool was very dirty with black mould all round the top tiles. The grab and go breakfast was good. Overall the stay was ok but I am not sure I would come a third time.

We recently stayed at the Southwinds Motel for the first time. We had a fantastic experience!! From the moment we walked into the lobby, we were greeted with smiling faces by Karen and Lotoya. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed with amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the linens were crisp and fresh. The hotel's location was a huge plus for us. It was centrally located, making it easy to access all the nearby attractions, restaurants and bars. We appreciated the convenience of having the Tipsy Rooster a few feet from our room. Overall, i highly recommend the Southwinds Motel to anyone looking for a comfortable, laid back, enjoyable place to stay. The Hotel propety manager Rafael and staff exceeded our expectations and I would definately stay again.
