It truly isn’t a KW Vacation and experience unless you or we’re staying here at Southwinds Motel. Yet, sitting by the heated pool we ran into “Negative Nancy” and their gang. NOTHING made them happy. I had to mention this because if you stay at Southwinds you feel like extended family. Friendly, professional and helpful from the time you check in, to housekeeping staff.(Thelma)😊 Their websight shows exactly what you get in this old establishment motel. We bring our bikes and they have plenty to rent- This location is everything….enjoy!

My fiancé and I were a little nervous booking a motel but this exceeded our expectations! All we wanted when booking was to stay at a place that was in a good location and offered a clean room & bed for a cheap price for Key West. We did not need any frills since it was only 2 of us staying for 1 night. This motel was exactly what we needed and was honestly nicer and more comfortable than we expected. Yes the features are dated, but overall everything was clean and the A/C worked great. No bugs or weird stains. Parking was super easy too. Definitely recommend this place if you need a place to sleep for a day or 2. I wouldn't recommend for longer though as it is a little tight. We booked through Chase Travel so I don't know if that influenced which room they gave us or not.

Don’t listen to the people saying negative things. Here’s an honest review. It’s a groovy old town motel very close to the ocean. Several restaurants for breakfast and open until 11pm including a store with groceries across the street. More privacy than the BnB’s. 2 pools and a large continental breakfast which was very nice. It’s a $7 Uber ride to the furthest end of Duval so you’re a block away from the chaos. The parking is key here. No issues at all even when the hotel was booked. They were super cool with parking our rental scooter from papas in front of my Jeep. Didn’t have to drive our vehicle the entire week. Staff was great and super helpful. Pools are open until 10pm. Pretty quiet motel too. It’s an older property original to the area and was updated a few years ago. You get the Old Key West experience. The SouthernMost landmark is literally around the corner, very very short walk, maybe 3 minutes. There is a cool tiki bar onsite up front by the road with solo musicians everyday. We would leave Duval and head back to finish up our night at the onsite Tiki bar. There’s actually a liquor store next door to the front office as well, the is located at the tiki bar that had an interior area behind the service bar. Outdoor seating on the main road. Our room wasn’t the biggest, but it was clean, Cold AC and we had a blast the entire visit. This is our new little secret hideaway now. Update 11/2024: we returned for 6 nights with our youngest. 6 nights. Once again another great stay. A true historic Key West Island vibe hotel. Thanks again.

Great staff and a concern and was resolved very quickly. My wife and I will be there in spring time due to they handled the issue properly. Trust them great people. Thank you again MARK THANK YOU PETE

I've stayed all over KW in various B&B's for the last 13 years and my wife and I always thought about trying Southwinds, and finally did this year and it was more enjoyable than we expected. Carlos and Tamesha at the front desk were very friendly and gave good suggestions as well as were just fun to chat with. They have breakfast items to avoid spending money for your first meal, and the 24/7 beverages of lemonade and juice helped keep our cups full as we wandered. We would stay again, room was clean, pools were fine, I wouldn't bank on their beach access but the KW transit will get you to Fort Zachary and everywhere else. They are also nice to the Iguana's who hang out around the motel which we appreciated.
