Rooms were clean, spacious & had necessary amenities. Front desk service was always friendly and helpful. Location was great, and nearby recommended scooter rental worked out perfect! Pool was relaxing, bar and donut truck on site. Complimentary simple breakfast, added bonus. Would recommend and would stay again!

We encountered a small cockroach in the bathroom on the morning of our check-out date and unfortunately another one in our luggage later in the day. More frequent pest control should be considered. Beds are comfortable, clean towels, the furniture has seen lots of wear and tear. Unimpressed with the room but we spent most of our stay outside anyway. I did appreciate the great location, very friendly staff, live music, and amenities around the property.

I’ve stay at the Southwinds Motel like three times and every time I stay, I’ve have had an amazing time. The rooms are clean, the staff are super nice and helpful, it is in a great location for a low price! Can’t wait until my next stay there again.

This was our second visit to Soutgwinds, albeit the first stay was 12 years ago. Southwinds is very accommodating for a short stay and located approximately 20 minutes walk from the lively end of Duval Street. The rooms are functional, equipped with a fridge, en-suite facilities and a comfy bed. Southwinds provides and access to two pools with towels available. There is an on site bar and ice cream van, and although we never used them there was good business. A continental, grab and go, breakfast was available each day consisting of juice, pastries, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, eggs, and coffee/tea. Coffee/tea and soft drinks are available at all times. Parking is available on site which is great for Key West. Carlos on the front desk was excellent and a great ambassador for the motel. He was welcoming and provided great advice on local bars, restaurants and attractions. We will certainly stay at Southwinds bonfire trips to Key West.

June 2024 was our 6th trip to Key West and our 5th stay at Southwinds. We love this little Motel. It’s the perfect location. We always walk or use the free bus to get around. Having the store across the road is such a plus, along with the Tipsy Rooster Bar and live music. The breakfast muffins and coffee are a perfect start to the day. We love the choice of using the small pool or larger one depending on the crowd. We have stayed in different rooms over the years but now pay extra for the rooms with the couch and separate bedroom which works out perfect because my husband sometimes gets up in the night to watch tv and wakes up a good hour before me so I still get to sleep uninterrupted. Southwinds is our little home away from home and we will be back next year. J and W Metayer
