not the most updated place. its a bit of walk to Duvall street. not far from the beach. my first experience was a phine call the women was very rude and sharp. I asked her to make sure manager got a fax. that NEVER happened. thanks to Prucelibe for saving us. i wont stay there again. rooms small. the bar near it pricey. but most key West places have gotten very high

We stayed on the fourth of July. The room is simple. My favorite thing about the room is the HOT water in the shower, but there was not much room in front of the toilet (less than a foot!) making it challenging to use without sitting sideways! The breakfast is a grab and go of muffins, pastries, boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, and drinks. The air conditioner was very loud so I wasn't able to sleep much. We were able to rig the vibration piece with some folded paper, which helped, but it was really frustrating after losing an entire night's sleep. A second component to my sleep difficulties was the bright lights shining into the window. I need a dark room and there are not any darkening shades on the windows. On a positive note the parking lot was well lit. The seaweed smelled horrendous, and the air conditioner sucks outside air in... overnight, our room would begin to smell like sewage until around lunchtime. Bring air freshener to spray! The proximity to the southernmost point and Higgs was great. They provide free chairs and umbrellas at Southern Most Cafe Beach from 9 to 5, but the beach was covered in seaweed to the point that it was inaccessible. The deli across the street was delicious and so convenient. The Tipsy Rooster bar was a great place to hang out, enjoy drinks, and listen to great music!

Wasn’t the best, but wasn’t the worst. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights for our honeymoon. The location is fantastic. You are super close to duval street but far enough away from all the craziness, which is nice. The motel has a bar with live music which was fantastic and convenient when we still wanted to have some fun but not get too wild on Duval. Having a small grocery store across the street was nice too. Breakfast was ok- grab and go style, which was basically all sugary items but i was pleased with the variety of different items (even though they weren’t particularly healthy) The room was very small and there is no dresser drawers or closet- just a rack that hangs from the wall. There were some ants climbing near the window but whatever they didn’t go anywhere else and so i left them alone. The front desk gives you a ticket to bring to Southermost beach cafe for complimentary towels and chairs at their beach. My favorite part honestly was the hammocks. Every morning and every evening i would sit out there and read my book. It was really perfect. I was completely disgusted by the pool areas. Something about them just seems so dirty. I was totally revolted by the big pile of dog poop by the edge of the smaller pool. I swear I saw poop at the bottom of the pool as well but my husband said it was just scratches on the floor of the pool. The “scratches” were brown. Overall we were pleased as we didn’t spend a ton of time in our room so the size etc wasn’t a huge deal.

Stayed 3 nights.. room king bed was extremely small 10x14 which included bathroom!! HOWEVER .. room & shower were extremely clean..quiet.. comfortable bed and PILLOWS!! A/C did not work properly and maintenance exchanged it immediately! Pool area also very nice.. but small. One shade tree!! Staff was accommodating and helpful.. breakfast was simple.. coffee and great muffins etc.. bicycles and scooters to rent on site which was GREAT ..because .. parking in Key West is a nightmare and very expensive !! Overall.. it was a great stay and we would return to SOUTHWINDS.... !!
