Archeology Camp | The Curse of the Mummy

Ages 6-12 (Please note that due to the intensive nature of our camps, we are unable to accommodate children under 6 years of age.) This program features a high energy adventure driven curriculum where the classroom is used to represent a museum. Students will learn about ancient cultures as they are sent out as agents of history to find the missing components from our museum displays. Each of these museum assignments will be run in an "Indiana Jones" style with tricks, traps, riddles and unexpected adversaries for a well-rounded experience of fun and history. The Curse of the Mummy is the first in a series of camps that will focus on a specific ancient culture during its golden age. Stay tuned for future camps that will address the Sumerian, Greek, and Roman civilizations, Aztec empire and the Cohochia people. Each of these themed workshops will examine the history, art, and ancient writing techniques of the culture to immerse the student's in the time period and prepare them for the adventure. Join us for a week of pirate themed activities. About instructor Rick Wheeler AKA DeadeyeRick is a renowned Civil War reenactor and volunteer historian at Fort Taylor and Fort Jefferson.
